Mar 15th, 2008. Microsoft will release Windows Vista Service Pack 1, next week to a wider audience, according to TechArp . Since early February, Microsoft has said that Vista users would receive SP1 in mid-March.
| Do note that unlike the Automatic Update version scheduled for release on or after April 18, the End-User Manual Update is optional. It will not automatically download or update your Windows Vista installation even if you have already chosen to automatically receive Windows Updates. You have to head over to the Microsoft Download Center or Windows Update site and manually select the optional Service Pack 1 upgrade. |

Some Basic Precautions To Take :
If you have a prior version of the SP1 beta installed, you must uninstall it.
Run DiskCleaner. Ensure that you have the minimum disk space required.
Back up your files to an external medium like DVD, CD, USB flash drive, etc.
Disable your 3rd Party Firewall and AntiVirus.
